Best Prices on Down Bedding

I love to nestle into my down bedding at night.  Yeah, it costs more but it’s so comfortable and delicate it melts me off to sleep.  One of our friends added a choice of down comforters to their wedding registry and it got me thinking about new, fluffy designer goose down pillows and blankets and how much the current prices were.  I’ve had my set for 4 years and I’m quite enamored with it, but maybe I can send my current bedding to the guest room and update my bed with brand new, stylish upgrades.  Wouldn’t that be a treat for me.

Yes, it would be a nice little treat.  I always like coming up with new ways of improving the overall scheme and quality of our home decor – even in the bedroom where I don’t exactly have a tour bus that comes through.  Anyways, I created this blog because I’m researching the area and I might as well help you out if I can.  Here are my first impressions of some products I’m glancing at.

The Oversized Medium Warmth Siberian White Down Comforter is 500 threat count and an absolute steal at $99.00. Basically, high thread count and high fill get this off to a good start.  For bedroom decor ideas, visit home decor magazines and learn more about creating a relaxing atmosphere to go along with your comfortable down bedding.  Everyone says it’s super fluffy, comfortable, and warm which is exactly what a goose down bed comforter should be. Note that you may want to air it out to get any plastic smell from the packaging out.

Now that we’ve looked at one comforter, let’s take a look at a down pillow. I’m a big fan of firm down pillows. You need firmness because you don’t want to sink into the pillow – you need that stability. The one i picked out for our imaginary trial bed was the The Double DownAround firm goose down pillow from PacificCoast.com. The Double Down Around is their best seller at $39.99 to $59.99 depending on the size. This unique style is basically a pillow within a pillow with the inner pillow consisting of smaller feathers and a more compact core surrounded by a fluffy outer layer to give you that softness and comfort you dream about.

To complete the bedding set, I looked at Target and found the Woolrich Down Blanket. The price is fantastic at only $34.99 to $54.99. Although not one of the big name brands you typically think about when shopping for down bedding, you have to love the blanket’s ability to function as cool and silky in the summer and warm in the winter. Reviewers loved it and the Woolrich Goose Down Blanket comes in several colors (khaki, brown, and plue) which is special because usually down bedding products are some version of white.
